L’Air Arts Cité Falguière, connecting, creating, making and promoting. Exciting news, I’m selected to an artists in residency in Paris in November 2024!

To be selected to the artists in residency at L’Air Arts Cité Falguière in Paris is an absolute honour and a great opportunity to keep on developing both my work and my network as an artist and a curator. There are many applicants from all over the world, and most of them get rejected. The program offers the participants to present their work and artistic visions for an international crowd, but also connecting with the vibrant scene around, like Paris Photo.

Looking so much forward to this opportunity!

We have formed a curators collective! The first step is to build an archive of our lectures together. The lectures and our archive will be available online and over time this archive will grow. After many discussions we decided on a name, We’re.

And now I finished the International Curatorial Program at Node Centre, a 11 months long master course in curatorial practices. It was a great, intense, and very inspiring experience. The Node community includes new colleagues and friends all over the world, now we’re brooding on future adventures together!

The great initiative Dead Darlings selected one of my artworks for their auction in december! What is a Dead Darling? Here is some info from their site https://deaddarlings.nl/

What is a Dead Darling? A dead darling, is a work that an artist might not normally sell; a fabulous experiment, an outlier, a misfit, yet always something that stands strong on its own and has a story to tell. We give these works a second chance for love and tell their stories. As these pieces have been previously “killed”, starting prices for our auctions are low, giving everyone the opportunity to bid for an original and unique artwork. Who are Dead Darlings? Dead Darlings are a collective founded in Amsterdam in 2005, running anonymous art auctions as a platform that challenges notions of value and explores the complex love triangle between artist, artwork, and collector. Our focus is on artefacts whose value is ambiguous. Our events combine elements of performance and exhibition. As a collective we bring something “unseen” into the public sphere.

I was asked to contribute to an erotic art exhibition in Paris, and as I sometimes work on erotic art, and had some photographs and drawings just waiting for this opportunity, it was easy for me to contribute. I sent the work by post, that is, insured and everything, but my  work got lost on the way. Never happend to me before, and I hope it will never happen again. With photographs you can make new prints, but with drawings it’s another piece of cake. So I found myself making reproductions, that is; drawings, of my own work. Then going as fast as I could to Paris to bring the art work. It was a bit of a frustrating experience but I managed and I was happy to be there, with my reproductions. And the show was great!

Very happy with the exhibition Abstract at the KCH in Haarlem, ending 19th of March 2022!

February 2022

An artpiece of mine is part of the exhibit ‘Inspirational Women Artists’, an exhibition and fundraising silent auction in celebration of International Women’s Day.

In the lead up to International Women’s Day and throughout the duration of the exhibition, you’ll have the chance to take home the works on display by taking part in our Silent Auction. For each artwork sold, 50% of the proceeds will go to the artist who made the work and 50% will be donated to Yellow Door, a Southampton-based charity that prevents and responds to domestic and sexual abuse. You can bid on your favourite works in our silent auction here!

Looking back was sold at the auction!

Happy New Year Everybody!

I’ll start 2022 with an exhibit in Haarlem in the KCH, that is Kunst Centrum Haarlem, https://www.kunstcentrum-haarlem.nl/ , where I’ll show 9 abstract photographs from the series Nr. 37. Here is a newsflash about my work: https://www.kunstcentrum-haarlem.nl/op-bezoek-bij/

The series emerged during the first lockdown in 2020, when I suddenly had time to scan my old analogue archive and there I found old treasures, like abstract photographs that I’ve never seen before. The exhibition lasts from January 22 until 19th of March 2022.

Also I have two pieces in Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam; one painting at the Winter Salon and five papier mache objects that are part of the downstairs exhibit (December 2021-March 9 2022), https://www.arti.nl/

And last but not least, I had 5 photographs selected for a virtual exhibition in London, ‘The Holy Art’. The exhibition was open for a week and the theme was CLASH. It was for a limited period of time, so the link isn’t working anymore.
