I was made in Belgrade under an old walnut tree in former Yugoslavia. It was a cold winter night and when my mother (who is Swedish) towards the end of the summer decided it was time to give birth to me she cheerfully traveled 2000 km up North, home to Stockholm, where I was born in September 1970. Since my conception, I’ve always been on the road.
The travelogues are my visual diaries of many years of traveling; to the East, to the West, to the North and to the South. The material is diverse in both content and themes, but I do have a weak spot for funny and weird signs for instance. When I went through the material for the website I realized that the photographs of signs could be a genre in itself here, just like my street photography or images of food. Sometimes nature pops up in my story, like in the Caucasus or in Iceland. I rarely photograph people, apart from my beloved ones. And I still mostly work with analogue cameras.
